Common Attributes +

Grain Type - Determine if the grain is colorised or black and white:

  • Color - Set individual grain values for each color channel.
  • Monochrome - Create uniform grain across all color channels.

Grain Amount - When Grain Type is set to Monochrome, determine how much grain to apply to the image. Higher values create a more visible noise texture.

Size - When Grain Type is set to Monochrome, determine the size of the grain. Larger values will create coarser noise.

Red Amount - When Grain Type is set to Color, set the amount of grain in the red channel. Use for color-specific noise control.

Green Amount - When Grain Type is set to Color, set the amount of grain in the green channel. Use for color-specific noise control.

Blue Amount - When Grain Type is set to Color, set the amount of grain in the blue channel. Use for color-specific noise control.

Red Size - When Grain Type is set to Color, set the size of grain in the red channel. Use for per-channel grain size variation.

Green Size - When Grain Type is set to Color, set the size of grain in the green channel. Use for per-channel grain size variation.

Blue Size - When Grain Type is set to Color, set the size of grain in the blue channel. Use for per-channel grain size variation.

Log Grain - Control the color space in which the grain is generated. 'Log' space will create more film-like grain characteristics.

Texture - Determine how much of the original image influences grain placement. Higher values make the grain follow the image structure.

Sharpen - Sharpen the image before the noise is added. Higher values create more defined edges and details.

Sharpen Edges Only - When checked, sharpening is only applied to image regions with a sharp contrast between light and dark areas.

Highlight - Set how much grain appears in image highlights. Lower values reduce grain in bright areas.

Midtone - Set how much grain appears in image midtones. Controls grain in the middle luminance range.

Shadow - Set how much grain appears in image shadows. Higher values add more grain to dark areas.

Time - By default, this is connected to the Composition's Time. Remove this connection to prevent the grain from evolving during playback.
