User Preferences

If you experience any problems with preferences you can safely delete the files contained within the Cavalry directory.

It's recommended to temporarily rename the Cavalry directory or files (e.g. preferences_temp.json) to retain a backup. Once a problem has been identified/resolved, those renamed files can then be optionally restored or deleted.

  • Ensure Cavalry is closed before deleting/resetting any of these files.
  • Deleting these files will result in default files being recreated on startup.
  • You will lose any saved preferences previously set by those files.

Application and workspace preference files are saved in:

  • macOS - ~/Library/Preferences/Cavalry/
  • Windows - C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\Cavalry\

AppData and ~/Library are hidden folders. To find them:

  • Windows - Check 'Hidden Items' in the View options for Explorer.
  • macOS - In Finder, Library will appear by holding Option/Alt when opening the Go menu.
